Ashley Holmberg, MS, PT, GCFP:
Ashley is a Child’Space Parent Educator and Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner in southeastern CT. She completed the Child’Space certification training program in NYC in October 2014 under the direction of Child’Space Method founder Chava Shelhav, PhD and trainers Dan Rindler and Barbara Leverone. Child’Space is a unique program for babies and their parents/caregivers, which supports motor development as well as social, emotional and cognitive growth through movement, touch and song. The Child’Space training program, which includes 300 hours of theoretical and practical training, was developed by Chava Shelhav, PhD and is based on theories of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais.
Ashley completed her Feldenkrais Method Training at the Feldenkrais Institute in New York City and became a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner in 2006. The Feldenkrais Method Training Program involves 800 hours of study over the course of 3 ½ years. Ashley first discovered the benefits of the Feldenkrais Method in 1996 when she was dealing with a hip injury sustained while running. The Feldenkrais Method helped Ashley learn about habitual movement patterns that contributed to pain and provided options for more efficient, natural movement. She loves the Feldenkrais Method work because it helps individuals develop their self-awareness and potential.
Ashley also works as a pediatric physical therapist in southeastern CT. She received her Master of Science in P.T. from the University of Rhode Island in 2000 and has a background in orthopedic and neurological physical therapy working with both children and adults in a variety of treatment settings.
